About us

AJ Fairs was founded by Angela and John in 2014 specialising in Antiques and Collectables. However, this description also covers a wide range of goodies such as retro, vintage, quirky and bygone items of yesteryear.

Having attended other fairs for over 20 years we believe we know what sellers and customers want and try to reflect this with each venue chosen. Therefore our venues are both customer friendly and seller friendly, i.e. easily accessible with few steps, if any, to allow for trolleys and disabled access.

We always aim to have free parking which is adjacent to a venue. For refreshments (unless there is an on-site café or restaurant facilities) we have our own caterer, who, when facilities allow, makes bacon or sausage butties, fresh sandwiches and lovely homemade cakes at very fair prices. Our entry charges vary per venue, but are very reasonable at either £1 or £1.50 per person.

For anyone wishing to have their own table (whether as a one-off clear out of the family collectables or regular sellers who attend fairs all over the country) our prices start from £28 (6ft table) and vary per venue.  (Please see ‘Selling’ page.)

We are proud to have received lots of positive comments that our fairs have a really nice atmosphere, pleasant background music and relaxed sellers with fair prices on the items for sale.  So we like to call ourselves 'the fair Fairs'.

We advertise in the ‘Black and White’ Antique Trade Calendar, the Collectors Companion, on the Antiques Atlas website, various Essex websites, local media and can often be heard chatting on BBC Essex Radio to promote the next fair.
